David Hoyle
I began in the Travel Industry in 1983 and worked for a number of independent travel agencies - I have been working with Future Travel for three years now. It’s an ethical, well-known and trusted brand, which is vital in this climate. I really like the brand and this way of working; it’s a world away from the high street and miles less stressful. Now, I’m my own boss and make my own decisions - which is great.
There’s no such thing as a ‘normal day’, I try to work 9am - 5.30pm but the flexibility is there to work when you need. Although you have to be committed and make sure you build structure in to your working day. There’s lots of support as well; I make a point of liaising with fellow homeworkers plus there’s always the backing of Head Office.
You can be your own boss so your destiny is in your own hands. The earning potential is unlimited and you get the rewards and recognition you deserve. I have won four awards in the last 14 months; fighting off high street travel agents to win the recent UK Travel Agent of the year 2008 and the FT Special Achievement award. I’m just a down to earth Yorkshire lad but if you’re prepared to work hard and able to embrace change, anyone can do this.
