Five years ago, we decided to try something different, and here we are. 

We both used to work at Thomas Cook. Phil was a Manager and I was a part-time worker. We’d had enough of the ‘red tape’ and I was going to leave my job. We were working really hard but earning money for someone else. This was just a better deal. In fact, the salary is six times as much as what I was on before. 

We’re totally, 100% secure working here. Actually, the nice thing is, we’ve never even had to advertise in the five years, it’s all come from word of mouth. And our lifestyle is perfect. Brilliant. As good as we want it to be. Work what you want, work the hours you want. Make your own decisions. We are grown-ups after all. 

We start at 9am, drop the kids off then go into the office. We try to finish at 5.30pm and have a weekend if we can. We divert calls to our mobiles in the evening, though. We work more hours, but that’s only because we want to. We actually like providing the customer service – we ask customers to ‘ring us whenever they want’. You wouldn’t ask customers to ring you outside office hours in a travel agent but with Future Travel, you can offer a much more personal touch if you want to.
