I was working for Thomas Cook and trying to cope with the demands of two young daughters when I discovered Future Travel. I realised that I could have a career that offered the flexibility I needed to suit my lifestyle – and the rewards my hard work and commitment deserved.
Of course, the biggest difference from my previous work is that I’m my own boss. So I start around 8am, when I check my emails and update the offers page on my website. From then on, I deal with whatever the day sends my way. I can fit my housework around my travel work and perhaps meet my friends for lunch – I can usually work wherever I am. If there are any problems, and they are rare, I know exactly who to call and things get sorted out very quickly.
Communication’s very important so I don’t feel as if I’m on my own. I’m often in contact with colleagues by phone, and we often meet up – plus I go to the conferences. It all adds to the feeling of security I get from having The Co-operative behind me, and security is so important when you’re working for yourself.
I’ve been doing this for ten years now, and I love the life. Can you get a better recommendation?
