I started work as a rep overseas for direct holidays, before moving to First Choice and then Lunn Poly where I worked as a Manager. Then I moved to Future Travel where I have been since 2003. Basically I’d got to where I wanted to be as a manager and felt it was time to move on and have a new challenge. Future Travel offered me exactly that.
The Future Travel way of working is more flexible, relaxed and allows me to have a good work/life balance. But saying that there’s still no such thing as a normal day. I usually start work early in the morning finishing paperwork from the night before. The rest of the day is usually spent taking customer calls and converting calls and dealing with queries. It’s always busier in the evenings.
I’m pretty self-sufficient, but I know there’s always support from Head Office if I need it. There’s also quite a few buddies within the different areas of Future Travel that I speak to and I’ve built up quite a lot of friends over the years, which is good. But it’s not just the support I get from my peers that I like, I also like the stability and security from being part of The Co-operative Group. I feel secure and protected and this confidence is definitely passed on to the customers.
